The Ship

The picture above is a staircase in the main lobby of the ship.

I haven't really said anything about the ship, so I will. First, it is HUGE. It's so big, that every single day, Grandma and I would get lost. Second, it is very fancy. All the time, there are workers polishing everything up. Third, the crew is the nicest group of people I have ever met. Whenever we saw our steward, Koko, he would say hello to us.

Here is a picture that really shows the size of it:

The white thing, on the starboard side and aft, is a regular sized float plane. I took this picture from the top of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.

The Food:

The food was wonderful! At lunch I would usually have pasta. Bingbong was usually the person doing the Italian part, so she would make the pasta. During the trip I tried lots of different flavors of mousse. I had mango, passion fruit, strawberry, raspberry, and chocolate. I really liked the 4 course meals in the Vista Dining Room.

Sitka and Ketchikan

Yesterday I didn't blog because the internet was to slow. We were in Sitka the first part of the day and then we headed off to Juneau. In Sitka, we took a nature and historic walking tour that went to the raptor center. It was a really good tour. I have plenty of pictures, but I can't post them because it will take up a lot of minutes. When I get to Grandma's, I will post lots of them. We also watched a show on the ship. It was a Master illusionist and comedian. He was hilarious. His magic tricks were really cool also. Right now, he standing at the cafe right in front of me.

Right now we are docked in Ketchikan. We didn't get tickets for any shore excursions, so we just went shopping. First, we went to the famous Creek Street and shopped there. Then we went to the stores near the ship. Of course, it was raining. I was glad I had my umbrella.

Tomorrow we will be in Victoria.

Juneau

Today we are in Juneau. This morning we got off the ship and went shopping. We shopped at Del Sol, the world's largest color-changing retailer. I bought 3 color-changing nail polishes, and Del Sol's bags are color-changing also. Then we went to the Capitol building and took a tour of it. We then did some more shopping as we returned to the boat to drop off our coats and umbrellas and pick up sunglasses. It is a really nice, warm, and sunny day! When we got off the ship, we went to the Mt. Roberts Tramway and went up the mountainside to the shops at the top of the mountain.
When we returned to the ship, I swam in the Lido pool. It's even warm enough that they took the dome cover off of it. We are going to eat at the Lido place tonight. We are going to leave Juneau in about 2 hours.

Grandma and I are having so much fun together.

Glacier Bay

Sorry I haven't been able to add to the blog, but I have a lot to say. We got to the Sea-Tac airport safely and on time. We then had to take a taxi to get to the ship. When we got on the ship, we went to our room and ate lunch at the Lido restraunt. The ship is very fancy. Right now we are on the tenth floor at the library/Crow's Nest. There is so much to eat, I haven't been hungry yet.

Last night, for dinner, I had a fruit mix for an appetizer, A watermelon Gazpacho for a soup, Mushroom Ravioli for an Entree, and Peach frozen yogurt for desert. After my Italian lunch, I went swimming in the Lido pool. It is about the same temp as the valdez pool. I has a dome cover over it when it is cold. Because we were in the open sea, it was rough, and that made the pool a wave pool. We've seen some porpoises playing around in the water.

The ship is so big that we keep getting lost. We have been watching many culinary demonstrations. I have to think and type fast because internet is 75 cents per minute. We are waiting for a lecture on Glacier Bay. Yesterday we could not get internet.

Sorry about no pictures- Maybe some tomorrow

Bye for now

Ready to Go!

Last night at about ten we arrived in Palmer. Today we did lots of shopping for flowers to plant. We had a campfire with my cousin, Annie, and my aunt, Debbie. We roasted hot dogs and had some corn on the cob. Right now I am getting everything together and taking some things out of my bag to save space. My grandma and I have to get up at 3:00 A.M. to catch our plane out of Anchorage. We will board the boat from 12:00- 4:00

I hope you all have fun watching the blog!

Getting Ready

I've been packing for the last week, and I think I'm finally ready to go. Tomorrow the Family is going to drive up to Palmer. From there, Grandma and I will go to Anchorage and get on a plane to Seattle on Sunday.

I'll try to keep up to date on daily posts so you can follow my travels. Hopefully, I will have access to a computer on board.
